The management of the University of Benin , Edo State, has commiserated with the family of one of its students , who drowned in the River Benue . The Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr . Michael Osasuyi , who spoke to Southern City News on Monday , stated that the Vice -Chancellor , Prof . Faraday Orumwense , had paid a condolence visit to the parents of the deceased , one of whom was a professor in the university. The deceased , who was identified as James Odiboh , was said to have participated along with his twin brother in the 2017 Nigeria University Games Association hosted by the Federal University of Agriculture , Makurdi . It was learnt that Odiboh , a 200 – level student of Medical Laboratory Science , had gone to the river last week to swim on the final day of the games when the incident happened .
